Safari Overview
Day 1 – Nairobi → Maasai Mara
Begin your adventure with an early morning pick-up from Nairobi, driving through the scenic Great Rift Valley with a photo stop at a viewpoint. Arrive at the Maasai Mara National Reserve in time for lunch at your lodge or tented camp. In the afternoon, embark on your first game drive, spotting lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and wildebeest across the iconic savannah plains. Dinner and overnight at your lodge or camp.
Day 2 – Full Day Game Drives in Maasai Mara
Spend the day exploring the Maasai Mara’s vast landscapes. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives, with an optional picnic lunch in the heart of the reserve. Witness the rich predator-prey interactions, including lions, cheetahs, and leopards. Depending on the season, experience the Great Wildebeest Migration as herds traverse the plains. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3 – Maasai Mara Cultural Experience & Game Drive
Begin your day with a morning game drive, followed by an optional Maasai village visit to learn about local culture, traditions, and lifestyles. In the afternoon, enjoy another game drive to explore different areas of the reserve, increasing your chances of spotting elusive wildlife. Dinner and overnight at your lodge or camp.
Day 4 – Full Day Game Drives & Optional Balloon Safari
Start early with a morning game drive for the best wildlife viewing opportunities. Optional hot air balloon safari (extra cost) offers breathtaking aerial views of the Mara plains and wildlife. After breakfast, enjoy a full day of game drives, exploring riverbanks, open savannah, and hidden valleys for sightings of elephants, giraffes, wildebeest, buffalo, and a variety of birdlife. Dinner and overnight at your lodge or camp.
Day 5 – Morning Game Drive → Nairobi / Departure
Wake up early for a final morning game drive to capture the beauty of the Mara at sunrise when wildlife is most active. After breakfast, begin the return journey to Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon with unforgettable memories of Kenya’s most iconic safari destination.
