Safari Overview
Day 1 – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Your unforgettable primate adventure begins with pick-up from Entebbe or Kampala and a scenic drive through Uganda’s rolling countryside, terraced hills, and local villages. Travel southwest toward the legendary Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Arrive at your lodge near the park in time for dinner and overnight.
Day 2 – Gorilla Trekking Experience
After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers before starting your gorilla trekking experience. Venture deep into the dense rainforest in small groups, guided by expert trackers, in search of a habituated gorilla family. Once found, spend a magical one hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat — an emotional and life-changing wildlife encounter. Return to your lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.
Day 3 – Return Journey
Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before beginning your return journey to Entebbe or Kampala, arriving later in the day. Reflect on the rare privilege of coming face-to-face with mountain gorillas as your safari adventure comes to an end.
